The Question Service Businesses Keep Asking
Clients want remote consultations. Consultants, coaches, therapists, tutors, and many clinics now run part of their week on video. The awkward part is rarely the call itself — it is the glue around it: sending a fresh meeting link for every booking, chasing who has the right URL, and hoping nobody joins the wrong room at the wrong time.
The real question is simple: can online booking create the video meeting for you, so the appointment and the call stay one thing?
Why Separate Meeting Tools Frustrate Everyone
When booking lives in one place and the video call lives in another, small mistakes add up. Staff copy-paste links into emails. Clients lose the message with the URL. Someone reschedules the appointment but forgets to update the call. Someone else shares yesterday’s link. You spend the first five minutes of the session fixing logistics instead of doing the work.
A cleaner model attaches the meeting to the booking. When the appointment is confirmed, the join link already exists. When the time changes, the same link still points at that booking. When the appointment is cancelled, the call page reflects that — instead of leaving an open room hanging around.

What “Online Meetings for Bookings” Means
In practice, an online meeting for a booking is a video session tied to one scheduled appointment. Clients do not need a separate account with a third-party meeting product to join. They open the join link for that booking, enter a waiting room, and the host admits them when ready.
That waiting-room step matters. The link can be forwarded, but admission stays with the host — so you decide who enters the call, even if the URL was shared more widely than intended.
How LoraBooking Attaches Meetings to Appointments
With LoraBooking, online meetings are a per-service setting. On the services that should be virtual (or hybrid), you turn on Online meetings. When that toggle is on, a meeting link is created automatically for every scheduled booking of that service.
You keep in-person services without meetings, and remote services with meetings, on the same organization. The toggle only adds the meeting link — it does not change how availability, buffers, or slot booking work.
After a booking is scheduled, clients see a Join meeting action on the confirmation page. The same join link is included in the booking confirmation email and in the calendar invite details. Staff can open Join meeting from the booking view, the calendar, and the upcoming bookings list when it is time to host.

Join Windows, Waiting Rooms, and Reschedules
The meeting page is not open all week. Clients and hosts can join from 30 minutes before the booking starts until 30 minutes after it ends. Outside that window, the page shows that the call is not available yet or is already closed. That keeps old links from turning into accidental drop-in rooms.
Guests land in a waiting room until the host lets them in. If someone is not admitted, they are not stuck forever while the window is still open — they can try again, and the host remains the gate.
If the appointment is rescheduled, the booking keeps the same meeting link. Only the time changes. If the booking is cancelled, visiting the link shows a cancelled state instead of opening a live room.
Recording When You Need a Replay
Some appointments benefit from a recording — training sessions, detailed consultations, or follow-ups where notes alone are not enough. In LoraBooking, recording starts only when the host clicks to record. It is never automatic.
When a recording is ready, the customer receives an email with a link to watch it on the booking’s recordings page. You do not hand out raw cloud storage URLs; playback stays on the app route for that booking.
Start With the Services That Are Already Remote
If you already do video consultations with pasted Zoom or Meet links, start there. Enable Online meetings on those services in LoraBooking, leave in-person services alone, and let the next scheduled bookings generate join links automatically. Clients book as usual. You host from the same calendar you already use. The call stops being a separate chore — it becomes part of the appointment.
